ROBREESINHO
By: Leonardo | February 8th, 2010My Saints from Santos and my Santos from New Orleans destroyed everything, beautiful.
A lot of journalists were putting into question the capacity of both teams. Here in Atlanta I had to hear during the day that Peyton Manning was the man and does not feel pressure, while Brees, on the other hand, did not have enough experience to handle the thing. In Brazil, journalists kept writing in the last days that our victories (the Santos’ from Santos) only happened because they were against small teams. We only needed to face a more experienced team, and our dreams would be shattered. Well, once again, you were all wrong.
Peyton Manning is an arrogant @#$%T. I have been living in the US for only three years and I’m already sick of that guy and his brother. In Brazil, we all have to deal with Rogério Ceni, São Paulo’s goal keeper, another arrogant f*** that doesn’t know how to deal with defeats very well.
Today, after being HUMILIATED by an eighteen year old kid in a penalty kick, he kept saying that the “paradinha” is prohibited in the whole world except in Brazil. What he did not say is that he already took advantage of that. Let’s watch the video below, with our beloved Rogerio Ceni’s “paradinha” followed by Neymar’s and, why not, Robinho’s piece of art.
And since I know you are enjoying this intimate conversation about humiliating Ceni, let’s remember this other great moment, with Geilson…son…son… a few years ago:
Now, what about our friend Peyton Manning?
Priceless.
Congratulations Brees, Neymar, Porter, Robinho, Shockey, Ganso, so on and so forth and thank you for giving me a perfect Sunday.

A double win for you Leo. Kaka was talking about Ceni being a poor loser on twitter as well.

Is the Brazilian league more lenient with the paradinha, or is it just a cultural thing that it seems to happen more there? Is there an official rule?

Hi Daryl, there is no rule against the paradinha in Brazil, but the thing is very polemic. Today, for instance, a guy wrote in his column about it, and it is about to get 1.000 comments: http://colunas.sportv.globo.com/expressodabola/2010/02/07/nem-paradinha-nem-paradona/#comments
Everytime a player does it, journalists write about it and there is a big discussion if the thing is fair or not. I think Neymar got it right in one of his interviews: it is a tool to be used against goalkeepers who step over the goal line before the player kicks the ball. And Ceni is notorious for doing that. That’s why the man was so upset. I laughed my ass off.
But there are some funny cases where players tried to do the paradinha without success. I’ll find some videos on post them on the comments session of your last post.
